Pulse Air Permeability Testing
The Pulse 2.0 is a portable compressed air-based system that is used to measure the air leakage of a building or enclosure at a near ambient pressure level (4 pascals) which is closely representative of air tightness at ambient conditions.
Having an accurate airtightness measurement is key to informing an effective ventilation strategy as well as providing quantitative evidence that Energy Efficiency Measures have been installed to a high standard. An airtightness test is currently required for all PAS2035:2019 projects under risk path C however the requirement will become more prevalent as the industry moves towards adopting PAS2035:2023.
The system offers numerous advantages when compared to the traditional blower door test; it is quicker, simpler, non disruptive and cheaper while still being an approved method under PAS2035, Part F and Part L1A.
Air Permeability tests can take as little as 30 minutes and can be effectively paired with a Retrofit Assessment to give a full picture of a dwellings energy efficiency.
